PLEASANT HILL, Mo. - Today is Missouri's first statewide tornado drill of the year. The drill is a part of Severe Weather Preparedness Week in both states.
Meteorologist with the National Weather Service Jimmy Barham told KXCV/KRNW that they hope people treat every tornado drill this season like it's an actual tornado warning.
The drill is a part of Severe Weather Preparedness Week. Barham adds that if you haven't already, today is also a good time to develop a tornado safety plan before a tornado strikes.
He says knowing what to do before a tornado occurs is essential to protecting lives. Tune into KXCV/KRNW for the latest when a tornado watch or warning is issued.
